Please support - ‘Dartmouth Area For Future Sustainability’

Steve Smith has asked Dartmouth Business News to let local business owners know about this new initiative which is a project dedicated to raising the Climate and Biodiversity Emergency issues in the minds of the residents, organizations and businesses in the Dartmouth area. I will publish his email to me below as it explains the project better than I can.

Dear Paul,

You may or may not have heard of “Dartmouth Area For Future Sustainability” which is project dedicated to raising the Climate and Biodiversity Emergency issues in the minds of the residents, organizations and businesses in the Dartmouth area.  I convene the group which has been meeting (Zoom) fortnightly for some months.  We have been approached (see email below and attachment) by South Hams CAN (Climate Action Network) to support their efforts to persuade our S Hams MPs to get behind the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill which awaits presentation to Parliament.
I wonder if you would be willing to approach local business through your Newsletter to see if we cannot drum up some support for this important Bill.

I attach the open letter which we, and many others, are signing, and also some links to relevant information about the importance of the CEE Bill.
I do think this would help hold the government to its pledges in environmental matters, and hope that you will feel able to spread the appeal for businesses and organizations to offer their signatures (support) to the letter to Anthony Mangnall.

To add ones’ signature to the bill please email [email protected]

Many thanks,
Yours,
Steve Smith
