Help to fight against crippling Business Rates

The South West Tourism Alliance is seeking “evidence” and “support” for a campaign to fight for fairer Business Rates. If you read their letter below it explains the idea better than I can. You can help by completing their survey by clicking the link below. You can provide them with evidence and examples of how the Business Rates have effected your business. Funding is available to help and it will be used to set up a lobbying website and coordinate lobbying activities: Here is their newsletter:

Dear All,

Trust this email finds you well and that this morning’s snow is not too disruptive.

I have been working with Coast Communications who kindly offered £10,000 in kind to help fight the Business Rates system. We are planning to launch in the Spring at a Parliamentary reception, this can only happen post Brexit, as MP’s are completely hog-tied currently.

In order to be ready we need to populate the website with some ‘evidence’ and “support’. We need to have some real content on there. To this end we are asking businesses that we know well to fill in a simple survey. It shouldn’t take five minutes and will help us on our way. You can find it http://bit.ly/2CRcZgU

The website is https://fairbusinessrates.co.uk and is a work in progress. We are not launching it until we have at least fifty names and feedbacks. We are not at this time asking for any kind of fiscal support, the in kind donation from Coast Communications will cover the website, the launch, the reception, and then we’ll review where we have got to. Much of the work can be incorporated into what the SW Tourism Alliance does already.

We hope that you can help us kick start this process. Any questions, please let me know.

Best regards
