Forget kiss-me-quick hats, sticks of rock and funfairs – Britain’s favourite seaside spots now offer space, peace and pristine beaches.
Bamburgh, in Northumberland, with its vast sandy beach and castle view, has been named the country’s best-loved coastal destination. With Dartmouth coming a close second.
It is one of a number of smaller, less crowded holiday resorts that have been listed as the nation’s favourites for a staycation visit.+9
