Please read the following invitation to support a very good cause in Dartmouth:
Auction of Promises in aid of
Ash Rescue Centre, Ash, Dartmouth.
The aim of this charity is to create an environment that combines caring for retired rescue horses and other animals within our nature reserve. Ash Rescue Centre continues to assist horses and animals who have reached the end of their working life and need a safe place to retire which not only caters for their physical needs but also for their emotional well being. We do not look to re-home any of the animals who join our “family” – they come to us in need of a peaceful, safe environment for the duration of their lives.
Alongside the horse rescue we began setting up our land as a nature reserve to protect the wildlife and create more habitats – so combining the horses and wildlife seemed like a great way forward. We have built up an amazing array of wildflowers and nurtured new animals including Barn owls, Cirl Buntings, Great Horseshoe bats and Dormice to name a few, now along with 30 elderly horses which have come from traumatic or neglectful pasts.
To supplement the ever needed income required to maintain the centre, we now incorporate a beautiful wedding venue set within our extensive flower gardens of which further details can be found on our website.
We are holding an Auction of Promises fund raiser at The Guildhall in Dartmouth on the 9th December. Top auctioneer Charles Wreford-Brown and Andrew Jarrold have kindly offered to be our auctioneers and comperes for this entertaining evening, which will include a fabulous buffet supper. We welcome support from all individuals and businesses alike who would wish to support this local charity by offering either a promise by way of a voucher for their business or a promise of a personal service. All contributors’ names will be mentioned and thanked in our programme, social media and other publicity associated with the auction.
We are currently collating auction promises and raffle prizes for this fabulous pre Christmas event and to participate please contact our auction point of contact, Lucy Williams at firstname.lastname@example.org or give her a call on 07815 824932.
We very much hope that you will be able to support us. Tickets for the event are now on sale at £12 to include a welcome glass and buffet supper, from “Bird” 5 Anzac Street, Dartmouth Tel – 07815 824932.
